A periodontist is a dentist who specialises in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases.
Periodontists are also experts in the placement of dental implants and their ongoing maintenance. They are trained to perform a wide range of surgical procedures which will improve the function and aesthetics of the dentition.
Dr Stan Boyatzis
Stan Boyatzis is a registered Periodontist who has practiced in Gordon and Castle Hill for over 25 years.
He received his specialist degrees from both London University and the University of Queensland.
Stan is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer with the University of Sydney and a Visiting Dental Specialist involved in the training of dental specialists (Periodontics) at Westmead Centre for Oral Health.
He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and a member of:

• Australian and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP)
• Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (specialist member, periodontics)

Stan has a special interest in the treatment of advanced periodontitis and peri-implantitis.
Dr Leo Liu
Dr Liu has a Master of Dental Surgery in Periodontology from the University of Hong Kong, which he obtained in 2016. He also has a Specialty Membership in Periodontics from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Edinburgh (2017) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (2020).
Dr Liu has been practicing Periodontology and Implant Dentistry over the past eight years. His clinical expertise centres on evidence-based periodontal regeneration, soft tissue grafting and crown lengthening surgery, complicated bone augmentation, and implant surgeries.
Leo considers himself easygoing, and he is always willing to help people to adapt to new environments. Helping patients to achieve optimum oral health is very rewarding for Leo.
Dr Steven Goh is a specialist Periodontist who completed his speciality training at the University of Sydney. Dr Goh enjoys helping his patients achieve periodontal health and optimal functional and aesthetic outcomes. He provides all aspects of periodontics and implant therapy.
Dr Steven has served as a clinical mentor in the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program at The University of Sydney as well as providing CPD course material for dental health professionals.
Outside of the practice Dr Steven lives an active lifestyle and enjoys playing tennis and golf.
